In compliance with the provisions of European Regulation 679/2016 (Regulation on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data), as well as the provisions of the General Measure of the Privacy Guarantor of May 8, 2014 and June 10, 2021, SIT GROUP S.p.A. (hereinafter “Company”), provides you with the following information regarding cookies installed on the domain (hereinafter “Site”) or from other domains accessible through the Site. The information is provided in accordance with Article 13 of the GDPR.

Cookies are small text files that sites visited by the user store on the computer’s hard disk or on any device used to access the Internet (smartphones, tablets), to then be retransmitted to the same sites during subsequent Internet accesses by the user. Cookies can be stored permanently on the user’s computer and have a variable duration (so-called persistent cookies), but they can also vanish when the browser is closed or have a limited duration (so-called session cookies).

Some operations could not be accomplished without the use of cookies, which, in some cases, turn out to be technically necessary. In other cases, the site makes use of cookies to facilitate user navigation. Cookies may be installed by the site you are visiting (so-called first-party cookies) or they may be installed by other websites (so-called third-party cookies) and are used to perform actions such as computer authentication, session tracking and storing information regarding the activities of users accessing the site.

Relative to the nature of cookies, there are several types:

  1. Technical cookies

Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service.

They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into:

– navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;

– analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the operator of the site to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve the performance of the site and optimize the browsing experience;

– functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same. Users’ prior consent is not required for the installation of such cookies.

  1. Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same in the context of web browsing (behavioural advertising).

The consent of the data subject is required for the use of profiling cookies. According to Order No. 229 of May 8, 2014 and June 10, 2021, the user must be able to authorize or deny consent to the installation of profiling cookies if they are present.

In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them). However, you can manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the sites listed in the “Cookie Management” section.

At the following link you can find the full list of cookies, grouped logically at the feature or provider level, used by the site.

Third-party cookies have a link to the privacy policy of the relevant external provider, where you can find a detailed description of the individual cookies and how they are processed.

The above cookies are used for the following purposes:

– to enable navigation through the public web pages of the website;

– respond to requests received through the e-mail addresses published on the website;

– to derive anonymous statistical information on the use of the website (e.g. analysis of the most visited pages);

– derive anonymous statistical information on geographical areas of origin;

– monitor the proper functioning of the website.

Below will be indicated the methods to manage and possibly disable cookies. You can, first of all, activate the “anonymous browsing” mode, i.e. a function that allows you to browse without leaving a trace of your browsing data in your browser. This function only allows you not to keep your browsing data in the browser.

Alternatively, you can disable/delete cookies by accessing the configuration panel of your browser.
